Job description:
Provide quality Specialist Medical oncology services across the Northern Cancer Service including Holman Clinic, Launceston the North West Cancer Centre, Burnie and the Mersey Community Hospital Oncology Unit as required.
The Tasmanian Health Service seeks a Medical Oncologist to join the Northern Cancer Service. The Northern Cancer Service is an integrated cancer service across three sites providing medical oncology, radiation oncology and haematology services. It services a population of approximately 250,000 in Northern Tasmania.
The Staff Specialist Medical Oncologist is responsible for specialist diagnosis, treatment and care for public hospital outpatients in the subspecialty of medical oncology. The position will be based at the WP Holman Clinic in Launceston, it will also support the North West Cancer Centre and Mersey Community Hospital in Latrobe through telehealth and outreach clinics.

Details of Appointment
Permanent, full time, day work, position working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. The successful applicant will also be part of an on-call roster with the Medical Oncology team.

Salary:
Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1- Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 3 $210,000 - $301,349 per annum
Please note that access to the Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner salary range $291,472 - $301,349 is subject to the successful applicant satisfying the criteria for Senior Specialist Medical Practitioner Level 1, 2 or 3 as outlined in the Medical Practitioners Agreement 2022
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
Provision of a fully maintained private plated motor vehicle or motor vehicle allowance of $25,758 per annum
Continuing Professional Development Allowance of $16,000 per annum
Private Patient Allowance
On Call Allowance
Relocation package and accommodation allowance available
Eligibility:
Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Specialist or limited registration with the Medical Board of Australia in a relevant specialty
Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the status of these may be checked at any time during employment. It is the employee’s responsibility to ensure that registration/licences remain current and to advise the Employer if their circumstances change. This includes notifying the Employer if a registration/licence is revoked, cancelled or has its conditions altered

Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Australia or equivalent
