You will ensure external perspectives are sought, understood, considered and integrated into major project development.Your ability to build relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders will be essential to your success in this role. You will lead engagement strategies and communications planning to help ensure stakeholders are effectively engaged on Major Projects and long-term plans.Working alongside a dedicated team of professionals, you will play an integral role in developing tools to facilitate open and transparent information exchange between the organisation and a wide range of external stakeholders.Your attention to detail and analytical skills will be called on to interpret and break down complex technical information for communication to a range of audiences. You will have the scope and support to develop the necessary communication tools and plans to convey messaging in an engaging way.Key responsibilities across Stakeholder Engagement and communication include:Lead the development and implementation of the Stakeholder Engagement strategies for Major Projects for WA Operations to support government approvals and project delivery, ensuring integration with existing engagement processes.Provide strategic corporate affairs review and advice on environmental and engineering studies to ensure community and other relevant external perspectives are considered and integrated into project development.Work alongside and support your professional colleagues to develop and deploy communications plans and tools required for timely and authentic Stakeholder Engagement.Develop internal communications to engage, inform and support employees in their understanding and public advocacy of Major Projects and long-term planning.Develop proactive and reactive media engagement strategies and tools related to Major Projects.Work with relevant colleagues on the preparation of responses to submissions related to the public comment periods for environmental approvals processes.What’s on offerCareer development opportunities to pursue your passion.An attractive remuneration package that recognises the skills and experience you will bring to the team.A yearly performance bonus (variable) to reward your contributions.Generous paid parental leave with 16 weeks for primary carer.Make a difference in our local communities with paid employee volunteering hours.Social and diversity focused engagement opportunities.What you can bring to the roleBachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations, or other relevant field.Experienced in leading Stakeholder Engagement and communications activities in a complex external context, preferably in the infrastructure or resources industry and on Major Projects.Demonstrated leadership and ability to deliver strategic and sophisticated advice.Highly developed analytical and detail-oriented communications skills with the ability to interpret and convey complex messaging in an engaging way to a wide variety of stakeholders.Possess strong interpersonal and listening skills and the ability to make sound, practical, logical, and balanced judgements.Highly motivated, self-directed, and a strong team commitment.High level of strategic skills, an ability to influence outcomes, and be an effective communicator capable of conveying complex issues across a range of stakeholders.Possess solid understanding of the economic, industry and environmental policy context and setting in which Alcoa operates.Application Closing DateMonday, 3 June 2024Additional informationInterviews may progress prior to the closing date, although all applications will be considered.You will only be contacted if you are shortlisted for an interview, this process can take up to four weeks from the closing date.#LI-JR1About the LocationAlcoa Australia's is administered from its head office is located in Booragoon, WA.
