Steel & Metalwork Fabrication Production Manager

THE ROLE

Innovare is currently seeking an experienced Production Manager for the Company’s Structural Steel and Aluminum & Stainless Metalwork fabrication division located in Eagle Farm, Brisbane. .

This dynamic role forms part of the Executive team reporting and working collaboratively with the Managing Directors and other key stakeholders. The Production Manager is responsible for planning and managing the use of labour, materials, plant and equipment and overseeing the daily operations and related activities for a manufacturing plant to fulfill planned production requirements and delivery schedules.

ABOUT YOU

It’s likely that the preferred candidate will possess a history of manufacturing/fabrication management experience in the metal/steel or related industries.

As well as having a strong grasp on manufacturing metrics, lean principles, and efficient process, it’s certain that the successful candidate will have the ability to prioritise, direct and oversee work activities, schedules, and process to ensure a timely delivery of quality product and whilst adhering to site health, safety, and production objectives. 

As a highly motivated people person and skilled at capturing the “hearts and minds” of people, you will very likely thrive on a challenge, care about customer service and be truly passionate about making a difference. Your strong communication, negotiation and organizational skills and your ability to successfully manage and execute priorities in a manufacturing/fabrication environment and business will help set the stage for your success.

Additional key tasks and attributes include:

• Proactive in driving vision and performance across all levels of the organisation and be comfortable managing a large budget,
• Ensuring all operational employees in Production are competent and motivated to perform their roles efficiently and effectively,
• Inspire people as your review and improve process efficiency throughout the Company with a focus on maintaining consistent Quality systems and superior performance practices, 
• Identify and recommend improvements to current Production operations and process to improve production efficiency, quality, and output,
• Direct the efficient planning and assignment of work to maximise the use of personnel, plant and equipment to ensure orders are built to specification and delivered on time and within cost,
• Work collectively with the Production, Purchasing and Engineering teams to ensure the manufacturing operations can support efforts required to improve business opportunities.
• Experience in running production facilities including roll out and expansion of equipment and processes for automation and manufacturing. 
• Experience in steel and metalwork QA including CC3 procedures including implementation and reporting
