You will be responsible for working with various types of stone to create beautiful and functional structures. Tasks and responsibilities Constructing and repairing stone structures such as walls, floors, and countertops Using hand and power tools to shape and cut stone Mixing and applying mortar to hold stones together Installing and repairing stone veneers Working with site foreman and contractors to install stone designs Benefits Weekly payment $70k to $90k a year (plus Superannuation) or $35.50 per hour (plus Superannuation) All tools provided by Hanssen Pty Ltd Opportunity for career growth and advancement Work on a variety of interesting and challenging projects Join a supportive and collaborative team Task & Responsibilities
- Studying plans and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions, and installation procedures
- Sealing foundations with damp-resistant materials and spreading layers of mortar to serve as base and binder for blocks using trowels
- Laying bricks in rows, designs, and shapes, and spreading mortar between joints
- Embedding blocks in mortar and removing excess mortar
- Checking vertical and horizontal alignment
- Cutting, shaping, and polishing stones and bricks using machines and hand tools, and shaping bricks to fit irregular spaces
- Repairing and maintaining bricks, cement blocks, and related structures
- Designing and cutting monumental masonry and lettering
- Constructing walls using stone slabs and large masonry slab blocks
- Cutting, polishing, joining, and installing stone kitchen benchtops
- May prepare base and bedding course and lay segmental paving
- Work in a safe manner Qualification & Experience Proven experience as a Stonemason Knowledge of stone cutting and shaping techniques Ability to read and interpret blueprints and plans Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship Drivers License White Card
