Storage & Backup Administrator

Cleared Recruitment, in collaboration with a Global Technology and Business Solutions Provider, seeks to engage with an NV1 Cleared Level 3 MS Engineer/Storage & Backup Administrator based in Canberra!

Within the Managed Services framework, they facilitate the day-to-day operations of diverse hybrid IT environments. The dedicated engineers ensure the seamless functionality of client IT infrastructure, systems, and solutions by promptly identifying, investigating, and resolving technical issues, thus maintaining operational efficiency.

The Managed Services Data Centre team, an integral part of the clients Managed Services Delivery group, caters to clients across various industry sectors. This team is responsible for managing and supporting Server Infrastructure, Hyperconverged platforms, Hypervisor, Storage, Data Replication, Backup, and related systems and applications.
As a Storage & Backup Administrator, your primary responsibilities include:

• Supporting, maintaining, and managing the technical aspects of managed solutions.
• Working independently to perform operational tasks, resolve incidents/requests within agreed SLA, and ensure timely updates of tickets.
• Proactively identifying, investigating, and analyzing issues and errors, and logging incidents for immediate resolution.
• Planning, coordinating, and implementing complex system changes within specified change windows, while minimizing disruption to client business operations.
• Monitoring performance levels and capacity of supported applications, assisting in capacity planning and management.
• Identifying recurring issues, initiating problem management, and contributing to automation efforts.
• Testing new software versions and patches for release suitability and problem resolution.
• Maintaining detailed technical documentation and operational procedures for supported solutions.
• Assisting with project delivery, operational handover, and on-boarding of new clients into Managed Services support.
• Mentoring L1/L2 Engineers, offering technical expertise and guidance.
• Operating within Security and Compliance frameworks, and complying with 24x7 on-call operation requirements.

Experience/Qualifications:

• 5-8 years' experience in Core Technologies.
• Managed Services experience.
• Proficiency in ticketing tools, preferably Service Now.

Education and Training:

• Bachelor's degree in IT or related discipline / Advanced Diploma.
• ITIL Foundation certification v3/v4.
• Linux (RHCSA/RHCE) certification.
• MCSA/MCSE certification in Windows Server or Cloud Platform.
• VMWare (VCP) certification.
• DellEMC Storage certifications.
• Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) clearance required.
• Australian Citizens Only.
