Store Manager- Petrol, Convenience & Takeaway

Tropic Petroleum, a locally owned fuels and oils company, invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the position of Retail Manager at our busy store in Townsville. Reporting to the Retail Operations Managers, the Site Manager is responsible for all aspects of the day-to-day operations of the site. This is a customer focused role with previous experience in the food industry being highly regarded.

As well as strong interpersonal skills relevant experience is essential in:

• Rosters and budgets
• Console operation
• Equipment maintenance and monitoring of electrical and pump equipment.
• Store administrations, including daily reports, money handling, balancing, banking and reconciliation
• Stock control, including data processing and management of stock to maximise sales and minimise stock lose
• Daily fuel monitoring, dips and meter reads
• Stocktaking and reconciliation
• Maintaining exceptional customer service
• Merchandising strategies and promotional compliance
• Supervising staff
• Development and training the staff of console operators, improving performance and productivity of the store team while maintaining a safe working environment
• Ensure that all operations of the site are running smoothly
• Liaising with suppliers, vendors, internal and external accounts
• Other duties required to run the business

In addition, the successful applicant will have a 'hands on" role in performing console operator duties.

The site operates Beacon POS and back office systems. A sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel is mandatory.

The position involves working a weekend day each week and the site is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

All Applicants will stay current for 12 months.
