GEARS Mining is an industry respected provider of high-quality mining equipment and services in hard rock processing plants. Our clients include some of the largest mining companies across 6 continents. We are seeking a highly motivated store-person to take responsibility for the receiving, warehousing and dispatching of goods that meet our clients’ needs. In this role, you will unload and load courier and deliveries to and from GEARS Mining facilities. Count and manage inventory and stock. Pack orders in a timely manner for both internal and external customers.You will be expected to maintain exceptionally high standards of safety and participate in a team to ensure that projects are completed on-time.
Responsibilities and Duties.
- Unloading and loading goods from courier and delivery services..
- Receiving and scanning goods and checking against orders.
- Inspecting delivered goods for damage.
- Moving goods around a store.
- Stacking bulky goods safely.
- Picking goods from shelves for internal and external customer orders and recording their movements.
- Packing and sending orders to customers.
- Data entry and paperwork.
- Moving heavy pallets and goods using a forklift.
- Pick merchandise from the warehouse area and transporting it to the shipping bay
- Count and stock merchandise based on inventory control log
- Identify damaged, lost, or missing goods and notify supervisor immediately
- Pack orders in an orderly manner and close boxes so they are prepared for shipping
- Treat merchandise with care and concern at all times
- Scan all containers to determine appropriate contents as well as end destination
- Process requests and prepare orders.
- Place orders in delivery areas.
- Sort and place items on shelves or in bins.
- Maintain a safe work environment.
- Wear safety equipment.
- Adhere to 6S principles.
Ideal Candidate Experience and Key Attributes
- Safety first mentality
- Intermediate or higher Microsoft Excel skills highly desirable
- Lean Manufacturing, Practical Process Improvement, 6S knowledge/experience highly desirable
- Computer literate - experience and confidence using computers and operating systems such as Microsoft Outlook and Word
- Highly motivated and strives for personal, professional, and organizational growth
- Confident oral and written communicator
- Critical thinker and problem solver (solution focused)
- Willingness to learn, backfill roles within the Warehouse Team, and take on additional responsibilities
- Good with numbers
- Experience working with technical drawings and mechanically minded
- Ideally 5+ years of experience in the warehouse industry
- High level of autonomy, exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Customer focused (internal and external), collaborative, and teamwork
- Responsive, adaptive, and proactive when undertaking duties, tasks, projects, and changing workload demands
- Ability to safely and regularly lift 20kg and request assistance when lifting greater weight
