Storeperson/Back Dock - Kuranda

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic and reliable Storeperson/Back Dock Receiver at our Kuranda store.  This is a permanent full-time role.   As the Storeperson, you will work with department managers to ensure that stock is correctly received and neatly stored within the stockroom. You may be required to work a rotational roster which may include weekends and public holidays. In your duties you will:

• Receive and check deliveries for accuracy, infestation, damage, and temperature
• Process and dispatch stock returns
• Move pallets of stock using the forklift and pallet jacks
• Coordinate waste disposal and recycling
• Ensure the stockroom is neat and complies with workplace health and safety regulations
• Additionally, all our staff help out across the store to fill shelves, assist customers, operate registers, and collect trolleys when required.

The right person for this role will:

• Hold a current forklift license - essential
• Have a positive and enthusiastic attitude
• Be able to work well within the store team and communicate clearly with people
• Provide exceptional customer service and show interest in the local community
• Have good literacy and numeracy skills
• (e.g. check stock quantities, read invoices & delivery notices, fill in forms)
• Be able to perform physical work including (but not limited to) operating heavy equipment, lifting boxes, and
• standing for long periods.
• Be committed to following WH&S principles and company procedures
• Have computer skills
• Previous experience as a storeperson will be considered an advantage
