In partnership with the Australian Defence Force, Ventia is seeking a Stores Service Attendant to join the team at the Amberley Barracks, supporting the National Clothing Store Services.
This position is a permanent opportunity working Monday to Thursday 7:30am to 4pm and Friday 7:30am to 2pm
The Stores Service Attendant is responsible for the storage and distribution of Defence Force clothing for serving Defence personnel. You will work under general supervision, either individually or in a team environment, performing a variety of tasks requiring a knowledge of customer support, warehousing/stores practices and procedures.
Duties
Over the counter Customer Service
Assist with kit issues for customers
Reconciling EFTPOS transactions under supervision
Assisting with regular stock takes
Receive, check and acquit stores under supervision
Basic operation of DPN computer terminal
Stock packing and preparation for dispatch along with loading and unloading trucks when needed and if qualified
Inspection of boxed goods under 12-15kg and goods received over the counter on receipt and label as necessary
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Prior demonstrated experience as a store / warehouse attendant
Strong customer service skills
Knowledge of or the ability to gain knowledge of the Electronic Supply Chain Manual, MILIS, PIMS, DTP and Defence related logistic policies
Forklift licence highly regarded
A team player who works well with others
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Computer literate with skills in Excel, Word, and Email – Internet applications
* Eligible to hold a Defence Security Clearance and therefore must be an Australian Citizen.
