A bit about the role
Join Wyndham City Council in this newly redesigned role, to elevate the focus of Asset Management and life cycle outcomes of our diverse portfolio of assets. The position plays a key influencing role in shaping how assets are managed in a growth Council, reflecting community needs and shaping investment programs to deliver on Council plans and strategies.
You will bring a customer focused approach to planning, servicing and managing assets to maximise value to the community for today and for the future.
You will also:
- Work with the Manager to review, develop, continually improve Council's Asset Life Cycle Management Framework
- Influence the planning, acquisition, use, maintenance and operation of Council assets
- Build strong relationships and gain collaboration across the organisation, aligning asset/service planning with balanced cost, risk and outcomes for the community
- Ensure investment in asset information to support improved decision making, bringing a long-term focus for optimised investment in maintenance, renewal and growth of Council assets
- Establish and maintain effective decision making and governance forums to manage Council assets
What you will bring
- Demonstrated ability to review, develop and improve an asset life cycle framework within a large and complex organization
- Extensive experience in relation to Infrastructure assets, Asset Management, and Financial Management
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. Engineering, Business or other relevant disciplines)
- Highly developed and demonstrated practical understanding of the creation and performance of Council asset classes
- Experience in leading and developing a diverse, inclusive and capable team
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience in developing and implementing corporate wide Policies and Strategies
- A continuous improvement mindset with a positive, proactive, and flexible attitude
