Job description

Wanted: Strategic communications professionals!

About the role

We often have short term vacancies while our employees take a period of leave, are deployed elsewhere in the business, or are seconded to other departments in the public sector. At times, we also need people to work on projects for a finite period or to meet the short-term needs of the team, when workload is high.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest from communication superstars across multiple levels for upcoming temporary and permanent opportunities within our high performing Strategic Communications team. In these roles you will work to support Landgate's core organisational objectives by informing and persuading our customers, our people and our community using the smartest, sharpest, and savviest communications strategies and tools. At various points over the coming months, we expect to have opportunities available, which could be at level 4, 5 or 6.

Because of the variety of roles across the team, we are looking for a cross combination of skills and experience. As a general overview, this is what the roles will look like:

Level 4

You will create, manage, and run internal and external communication campaigns and events, assist with social media and online content and write key content for the business areas across a diverse range of communications materials.

Level 5

You’ll be entrusted with crafting impactful media statements, media queries, and key messages to support Landgate’s strategic direction.  Your role extends to developing engaging yet occasionally technical talking points and presentations.  You’ll also develop internal and external communication plans, ensuring effective dissemination across all channels.  You may find yourself involved in overseeing the completion of design or digital campaigns as needed, adding a creative dimension to your responsibilities.

Level 6

As a more senior member of the team, you’ll collaborate with senior business unit leaders to shape comprehensive strategic communication plans and collateral.  Your expertise will be pivotal in supporting Landgate’s communications strategy and business unit plan.  You’ll play a key role in handling media and issues management, providing strategic counsel during challenging situations.  You’ll be expected to lead by example, inspiring and supporting other colleagues within the team.

You are a senior member of the team and expected to lead should the opportunity arise. You will work with our senior leaders and Corporate Executive team to develop strategic communication plans and artefacts. Assisting with media and issues management may also be required.

If you would like further information, please contact, Kelly Kent, Senior Manager Strategic Communications, on 08 9273 70***or email **********@landgate.wa.gov.au (but please don’t send your application here).
