Contribute to the development of strategies and policies to facilitate the coordinated development of our City
A little bit about the role
Reporting to the Coordinator Strategic Planning, the position provides high quality service and expert planning advice to Council staff and external stakeholders. The role initiates, manages and delivers strategic planning projects and participates in multi-disciplined project teams.
- Assist in policy development to guide land use and development in Boroondara
- Coordinate and prepare planning scheme amendments
- Prepare and present reports and submissions relating to strategic planning matters at Council meetings, panel hearings and other public forums
- Carry out public consultation activities
A little bit about you
To succeed in the role, you will bring:
- A recognised qualification in town planning or a related profession
- Solid understanding of planning systems, practices and trends including the planning scheme amendment process
- Possess a strong ability to develop innovative, efficient and practical solutions to issues
- Excellent communication skills to assist in discussions and resolutions with the community, government, private sector representatives and staff
- High level competency with IT skills, including in GIS systems
