About Ku-ring-gai Council

About the role
Reporting to the Team Leader Urban Planning and working with the Heritage Planner Specialist you will be responsible for ensuring heritage conservation is effectively integrated into strategic planning and development assessment processes within Council.
Your duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide specialist assistance and advice on strategic heritage planning matters within an integrated team environment
- Develop, implement and review strategies in line with relevant legislation and Council’s strategic direction
- Provide advice to internal and external clients on heritage planning matters
- Administer the annual heritage home grants program in consultation with the Heritage Planner Specialist
- Represent Council at relevant professional networks and seminars
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Town Planning/Urban Planning or a related field
- Minimum 3 years experience in strategic planning with heritage planning and heritage policy development
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team as well as independently
- Experience in strategic planning in Local Government is desirable but not essential
