As a Strategic Transport Planner, you will:
- Provide expert advice and support in the development of transport and land-use strategies and policies.
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to deliver transport projects and services that enhance community mobility.
- Work closely with various stakeholders, including the Department of Transport, local community groups, and private transport operators, to explore options for expanding transport services and improving accessibility.
- Develop comprehensive travel plans focused on promoting sustainable transport options, such as walking, cycling, and public transit, to key destinations like schools, train stations, activity centers, and employment precincts.
- Partner with the Traffic and Transport Team to implement traffic management initiatives that enhance safety and livability in local residential areas.
- Conduct satisfaction surveys to assess the economic benefits of active transport and track progress towards targets outlined in the Integrated Transport Strategy.
- Identify and propose solutions to community transport issues in alignment with relevant standards and guidelines.

Requirements include:
- Previous Transport Planning or Transport Engineering experience.
- Previous local government experience is desired but not required.
- Excellent Written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office packages together with proficient computer skills, and the ability to work in a digital environment.
- Ability to manage time, set priorities and plan and organise one’s own tasks within set time frames.
- Ability to achieve objectives within specific timeframes and conflicting pressures.
- Ability to solve minor problems through discussion and teamwork.
