The City's Strategy & Urban Analytics Unit develops strategies and policies that support the social, cultural and economic life of the city. Through our Social Strategy Team we support the City to work towards a socially just and resilient City, working with the community, stakeholders and others to further the vision of Sustainable Sydney 2030 - 2050.
This exciting role works collaboratively to develop, implement and evaluate social sustainability policies, strategies and action plans. It also provides social planning research and advice on matters including social infrastructure provision, social services and programs provision, and strategic land use planning policy.
You will develop relationships, support teams across Council and coordinate research, engagement and approvals for informed social strategy that meets the needs of our community. You will have experience in a high-volume work environment, excellent collaboration skills, strong project management and briefing skills, and are an experienced strategic problem solver.
To be considered for this opportunity you will hold relevant degree level qualifications and/or have experience in the Social Science, Social Research, Sociology, Public Policy, Social Planning. You will also have proven knowledge of and experience in addressing contemporary and wide-ranging social policy issues, through research and strategy development.
