About the roleAs a Strategy Associate you will be responsible for driving key analysis modules strategy projects that have high value and high impact outcomes for our business. You will drive complex, detailed and analytically driven reviews of various business areas and present recommendations to the Qantas Group Leadership Team and Board of Directors that result in growth and performance for the Group. Examples of project topics may include commercial performance, fleet planning, customer experience, innovation, engineering, transformation, and other major business areas. As an Associate you will also be responsible for leading the creation of content, assessing options, managing stakeholders and developing solutions that assist senior management in making significant strategic decisions. To be successful in this role you will be expected to use the traditional strategy toolkit, as well as employ the latest in innovation methodologies. What you’ll bring to the role:
- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline
- Ideally 3+ years’ experience at a major airline or a top-tier consulting firm (such as Bain, BCG, or McKinsey), investment bank, professional services firm, or within a corporate strategy team
- Outstanding analytical, financial, problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills
- A highly structured style and results-oriented approach with the intellectual capability to quickly understand and apply new concepts
- Excellent ability to create high-quality quantitative analysis and written materials for presentation to senior management and the Board of Directors
- Sound organisational skills with an ability to prioritise conflicting tasks in order to meet strict deadlines
- Strong verbal communication and relationship-building skills, and a high level of emotional intelligence to work with and manage stakeholders across the Qantas Group
- A strong interest in the airline industry and a desire to gain knowledge and experience across a variety of Qantas Group businesses
