About the team
Our Strategy and Architecture team are responsible for running the strategy across the AICD (corporate and digital) and managing the business roadmap through business architecture. They apply an adaptive strategy methodology to shift the organisation to a capability-based planning model that prioritises accelerating decision making at an enterprise level across the organisation to achieve strategic objectives.

About the role
An opportunity exists for a Strategy Manager to join our Strategy and Architecture team. This newly created standalone and autonomous role will see you draw on your strong analytical skills to play a pivotal role in shaping the AICD’s strategic direction, identifying growth opportunities, and optimising decision-making processes. You will leverage your ‘hands-on’ expertise in strategic thinking and strategy facilitation to provide valuable insights and recommendations that drive business performance.
Your remit will be broad and will include:
- Collaborating with senior leadership to define the AICD’s strategic objectives and long-term vision.
- Conducting thorough research, market analysis, and competitive benchmarking to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Developing strategic plans that align with the AICD’s goals and support sustainable growth.
- Supporting the Strategy Working Group in the development of the strategy report, the strategic initiatives prioritisation and analysis of strategy delivery metrics.
- Supporting the Governance and Performance Team by establishing metrics and measurement frameworks to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.
- Analysing market dynamics, customer behaviour, and technological advancements to identify potential disruptors or game-changing strategies.
- Collaborating with various teams, including sales, marketing, finance, and operations to align strategic objectives and ensure seamless execution.
- Serving as a trusted advisor, providing data-driven insights and guidance to support decision-making processes.
About you
You will have strong technical aptitude and previous relevant experience, and you will champion the AICD values of: Accountability, Respect, Excellence and Collaboration. In addition, you will also have the following:
- Bachelor's degree in business, economics, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred.
- Proven experience in strategic planning, business analysis, or related roles.
- Knowledge of strategic frameworks and methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex data-driven insights to diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional environment.
- Strong organisational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
