Your Opportunity

We currently have a great opportunity for a Senior Strategy Managerto join the NRMA’s strategy team on a full-time permanent basis.

The role offers the flexibility to work from home and across our Sydney CBD offices and/or Olympic Park as agreed and required for the role.

The Senior Strategy Manager will be a thought leader who can support the design, planning and execution of NRMA's group strategy

Working together with the Head of Strategy & ESG and Chief Strategy Officer, your key responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop and periodically refresh the NRMA enterprise and portfolio strategies. Develop the group membership strategy and identify implications for My NRMA membership program design, group BUs and future propositions.
  • As needed, own and deliver strategic projects for group businesses, bringing a structured problem-solving approach, analytical rigour and stakeholder management skills to deliver high-quality recommendations while bringing the organisation along on the journey
  • Develop new products, propositions and offerings for members and customers, taking ownership of the process from concept design through to launch, including commercial analysis and business casing, partner development/negotiations, proof of concept design and execution
  • Develop and integrate the ESG/sustainability strategy into the broader the corporate strategy, and collaborate with the ESG team to embed sustainability throughout the organisation
  • Contribute to group and business unit strategic planning and capability building
  • Together with Head of Strategy & ESG and Finance GMs, support and drive the strategic planning process, setting of business targets and allocation of capital in support of the Group’s long-term strategy
  • Build relationships with external stakeholders to be on the front foot of emerging trends and issues and leverage market information

Qualifications

About You

  • Significant experience in management consulting and/or a corporate strategy role, ideally within digital, transport, energy, tourism, industrial, retail or other consumer industries
  • Experience independently driving workstreams or leading entire projects across a range of functional areas (strategy, transformation, op model, digital/product development/innovation)
  • Exceptionally strong business acumen supported by excellent analytical and decision making skills
  • Experience identifying and evaluating organic and inorganic growth opportunities
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial approach to developing opportunities; persistence and creativity to find solutions to challenges along the way
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to distil complex ideas into simple, visual communications tools. Ability and willingness to get hands-on with tools (Excel, Powerpoint, Thinkcell etc)
  • Strong ability to build relationships and influence at all levels; confidence to challenge assumptions and conventional wisdom with specific, supported, reasoned proposals
  • Ability to navigate complexity and adapt to evolving priorities
  • A ‘growth mindset’; openness to absorb and act on feedback, to work collaboratively and iteratively
  • A bachelor’s degree from a highly regarded academic institution is required; an MBA or relevant graduate degree is desirable
  • Integrity and commitment to sustainability, inclusion, diversity and equity
  • Also desirable is experience building and launching products, either in a consulting or in-house context, and familiarity with best-practice product development approaches
