Our client is a civil, environmental and Structural Engineering consultancy committed to providing contemporary design integrated with the built and natural environment. Their expertise is in providing quality work to a growing client base in the following: sustainable land development; building structure; integrated water management; infrastructure master planning and design.
Purpose of the Role:
- Key Design support to the Structural Group;
- Assistance on a large range of technical engineering issues;
- Contributing at time to marketing, planning and management of jobs;
- Client Liaison and report writing
- Consult on a range of building projects from Commercial, Community, Sports and Recreational, Education, Retail, Heritage, adaptive reuse to high end housing and Health Facilities, Artworks and Special Structures Engineering Design is expected to be completed using materials including timber, steel, concrete, aluminium, blockwork and glass to ensure structural integrity
- Manage Structural Engineering projects from inception through to completion including concept designs based on technical specifications and stakeholder requirements -preliminary to detail design using design software programs and documentation such as progress reports
- Use analysis software programs to determine most appropriate materials for use in engineering structural design to ensure durability and stability
- Inspect building sites to evaluate existing conditions and foundations, where required
- Submission of fee proposals for ongoing construction work and management of the administration related tasks including invoicing for works completed, ensuring the scope of work is followed or, alternatively, that new fee arrangements are made and tracking of job profitability with the aim of realising appropriate job profits.
- Liaise with relevant professionals and stakeholders throughout course of projects
- Lead and oversee technical staff to ensure work is completed accurately and in timely manner across a range of large scale projects
- Completion of Bachelor of Engineering degree in Structural Engineering (Honours)
- At least three to four (3 - 4) years relevant experience as a Structural Engineer
- Previous experience and high competency in Structural Engineering design particularly with Architectural Buildings, Institutional Projects and Health Projects.
- Previous experience in leading teams across large scale projects mandatory
- Previous experience leading projects primarily using concrete and steel
- Demonstrated expertise in relevant analysis and design software programs
- Strong computer skills and experience with Tekla, Autodesk, Auto CAD, BIM, Solid Works and MATHLAB
