This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented Structural Engineer to join a leading mid-sized multi-disciplinary consultancy in the busy New Plymouth region. My client is a very well established business with a great local reputation and a very strong portfolio of future projects. All experience levels will be considered for this role.
They provide expertise across a very wide range of work covering structural, civil and geotechnical projects for the residential, commercial, industrial and oil and gas sectors.

The Role
The successful applicant will be involved in the opportunity to provide technical input as you work alongside their diverse team on some of the country’s most interesting buildings and Structural Engineering projects.
The role will include a balance of office based design, site visits and construction monitoring across a wide range of work.
- Structural engineering design for residential, commercial and a minor portion of industrial projects.
- Residential design includes SED elements of new residential buildings, retaining walls and foundation designs.
- Commercial projects include earthquake assessments and strengthening and new commercial buildings.
- Senior engineers would be expected to work with and review the work of junior engineers.
- We would consider all levels, but lean more towards an intermediate or senior engineer but an experienced Graduate of 2-3 years would be considered also.
- CPEng is not compulsory, however a long-term goal to gain CPEng would be expected
- A Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) or equivalent qualification
- Structural engineering design for residential, commercial and a minor portion of industrial projects.
- Commercial projects include earthquake assessments and strengthening and new commercial buildings.
- Experience with pedestrian, road and farm bridges would also be preferred.
- Residential design includes SED elements of new residential buildings, retaining walls and foundation designs.
- Senior engineers would be expected to work with and review the work of junior engineers.
- Have strong interpersonal and technical skills
- Creative thinking to find innovative solutions for our clients
- Experience in Microsoft Office programs
- Experience with typical structural analysis software is preferred
- Be enthusiastic and willing work on a wide range of Structural Engineering projects
The Benefits
- Salary range for intermediate would be $90k to $110k. Seniors $120k to $150k (CPEng).
