Student Life supports and empowers students across the student life cycle and is currently seeking 2 x Student Engagement Advisers to the University in support of a major strategic program to grow student numbers predominantly enrolling to online courses for the Education Transformation and Growth Program.
About the role:
The Student Engagement Adviser supports the retention and success of our online student community. Reporting to the Manager of Student Retention, this role involves collaborating across departments, implementing initiatives, and ensuring online students have access to the resources they need for a fulfilling academic experience. The role’s responsibilities encompass understanding and addressing online student’s unique needs by collaborating with faculty and central staff to design projects for enhanced retention and progression.
Responsibilities if the role include:
- Meticulous record-keeping and analysis using CRM systems to refine future engagement strategies,
- Liaising with stakeholders for event awareness,
- Conducting research on at-risk students,
- Policy Development and Implementation,
- Contributing to broader team efforts.
This is an opportunity to make a real impact on the success of our online student community while collaborating with a dedicated team committed to student excellence. Due to the nature of students studying online, the Student Engagement Advisor (online) may occasionally be required to work outside of the normal business hours to be able to make contact with individuals (ie: 3pm to 10pm). Please note that this role is to support online students and is not a remote role, however a hybrid arrangement can be arranged.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in education, counselling, student affairs, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience in Student Engagement, support, or retention roles within an academic setting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.
- Proficiency in CRM systems and record-keeping practices.
