Student Life supports and empowers students across the student life cycle and is currently seeking 2 x Student Engagement Advisers to the University in support of a major strategic program to grow student numbers predominantly enrolling to online courses for the Education Transformation and Growth Program.
About the role:
The Student Engagement Adviser (Online) supports the retention and success of our online student community. Reporting to the Manager of Student Retention, this role involves building the university’s capability to engage with students enrolled in online study by researching, designing & implementing initiatives designed to enable online student success. The role’s responsibilities encompass understanding and addressing online student’s unique needs by collaborating with faculty and central staff to design projects for enhanced retention and progression.
Responsibilities if the role include:
Contribution in the development of Online Support Plan
Engaging with online students via phone calls, video chats and emaills
Liaising with stakeholders for event awareness,
Conducting research on at-risk students,
Policy Development and Implementation,
Contributing to broader team efforts.
This is an opportunity to make a real impact on the success of our online student community while collaborating with a dedicated team committed to student excellence. Due to the nature of students studying online, the Student Engagement Advisor (online) may occasionally be required to work outside of the normal business hours to be able to contact individuals (ie: 3pm to 10pm). This role is required as a Full Time/Fixed Term Opportunity until December 2026 and open to flexible arrangements for suitable applicant of either on-campus, hybrid or remote working conditions.

Demonstrated experience in online Student Engagement, support, or retention roles within an academic setting is key.
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in education, counselling, student affairs, or related fields.
Strong communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a diverse team.
Proficiency in CRM systems and record-keeping practices.
