Role details
The Nursing Team at the Bowen Hospital is seeking applications for a Student in Nursing to join their team on a Casual basis.

Your opportunity
The Student in Nursing (SIN) assists and supports the Registered Nurse (RN) in the provision of direct/indirect person-centred care as required. The SIN is responsible for providing nursing care in a professional, safe and compassionate manner according to their education and competence.
Applicant must be an undergraduate student of nursing; and
* Is undertaking or has completed, on a full-time basis, the second semester of the second year of a pre-registration university program or
* is undertaking the fourth semester of a second-year post graduate pre-registration university program in a nursing or midwifery qualification approved by the NMBA.
About the Team
The Bowen hospital is a 17-bed acute hospital which offers several specialty inpatient and outpatient services. The facility has a newly refurbished Emergency Department which provides care to a wide variety of conditions from acute trauma management to acute care of medical conditions. Bowen ED is a level two facility under the current Clinical Services capability Framework. Patients requiring ongoing care in a tertiary facility are stabilised and transferred.
The 17 bed General wards are also a newly refurbished area providing patient centred care. Bowen Hospital utilises a multi - disciplinary approach modelled on current best practice principles to provide positive outcomes for patients and families.
The Community Health services are now integrated within the Bowen Campus to provide services by a multi-disciplinary team. The Bowen Heath Service covers the Bowen area including North to Guthalungra and South to Eden Lassie Creek and inland to the Collinsville range.
