Student Mechanical Engineer

Our Queensland Chlor-Alkali team located at Lytton (Brisbane), is looking for a Student Mechanical Engineer, to develop and kickstart your engineering journey with us at Coogee.  This role is unique, as you will be mentored and supervised by the Maintenance and Engineering Manager - Queensland.

The main responsibilities of the Student Mechanical Engineer are as follows:

• The project we have to offer is Asset Information - defining graphical and non-graphical data, information and documentation needed for the lifetime operation and management of plant assets.
• To carry out administrative tasks under direction, in relation to Asset Information and maintenance matters.
• Carryout site inspections when requested by the Mechanical Engineer or Maintenance & Engineering Supervisor.
• Training provided to learn our Asset Information system.

Skills and experience:

• An understanding of Asset management, Infrastructure maintenance activities and engineering principles.
• An understanding of equipment (mainly mechanical) design specification and data.
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• The ability to deliver successful outcomes in a set time frame.
• A sound knowledge of the Microsoft Suite package.
• Proficient oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to be an effective team member and to contribute to the goals and objectives of the Maintenance & Engineering team.
• Bachelor of Engineering (Chemical / Process) degree or studying towards the same and nearing completion.
• A valid Australian Driver's License.

We can offer you:

• This is a casual role - $25 to $30 per hour, plus superannuation.
• Temporary project commencing from late February 2024 to end of April 2024.
• Location is at Lytton, eastern bayside suburb of Brisbane.
• Flexible work times.
• Potential to lead into future graduate Mechanical Engineering program.
