An exciting opportunity has become available for a Student Support Facilitator to work across the Skilling Queenslanders for Work program, supporting students, between the ages of 15 - 19, on their journey while studying through STEPS Education and Training in Gympie.
This is a contracted part time role, Monday to Friday, 9am - 2pm through to 20/09/2024
The role
Provide ongoing support to students under the Skilling Queenslanders for Work funding throughout their studies to maximise program outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, develop and complete Student Individual Training & Support plans for each student.
- Provide one-on-one Student Support through a range of employment related activities, including resume writing, interview techniques, job application completion and overall work readiness
- Assist students to reflect on training and provide an open forum for students to explore barriers and identify solutions
- Assist with any administration duties and trainer support
- Refer students to external support services where required
The Successful Applicant
- Recent industry experience within Student Support or training is preferred
- Demonstrated ability to proficiently navigate Microsoft Suite and other software packages
- Ability to connect and build rapport with students across different socio-economic and cultural backgrounds
- An effective, flexible and supportive communication style which assists students in completing their studies.
- COVID-19 Vaccination Mandatory
Applicants must have the ability to complete a Police Check, hold a Blue Card and have a current Driver's Licence.
