Here at Concentis, we are partnering with a tier-1 mining and minerals processing company to source a Project Study Manager to assist with new and current projects from conception to Feasibility.
Reporting to the Program Manager Studies, the Study Principal is responsible for the planning and delivery of a large equipment replacement study (currently in Pre-Feasibility) within the Major Projects Team. The project will deliver the replacement (or upgrade) of Reclaimers at the Worsley Refinery, engaging a suitable Vendor (or Vendors) to supply, deliver and install the equipment. The project will focus on determining the optimum configuration, design, and delivery approach to achieve the operation’s needs. The role is to ensure study objectives are executed as planned. This position will form part of our client's Major Projects – Mine and Infrastructure Studies team.
Responsibilities:
- Work closely with other Project Leads, Project Engineers and internal stakeholders to develop OoMs & PFS to understand requirements and develop a robust scope of work.
- Manage and liaise with other various external stakeholders and contractors
- Complete business case, scope of work, data analysis and other studies
- Prioritise projects spanning across the next 10 years, schedule and develop how these fit within the current and future capital plan
- Manage performance, progress and budgets of the study.
- Planning, execution and delivery of the study within approved timeframes and budgets.
- Tertiary qualification in Engineering(Civil or Mechanical)
- Proven experience in project/study engineering management across mining, oil/gas or heavy industry
- A track record of developing capital studies, business cases and scopes
- Demonstrable stakeholder management engagement i.e. EPCM, contractors and service providers
- Committed to producing high-quality work and strong team collaboration focus
- Leadership in project development in mining or heavy industry (US$10m-$50M)
- Minimum of 8 - 15+ years of experience in the mining/mineral processing
- Work with a tier-1 mining asset owner on a long-term ongoing contract
- Engage in exciting projects, sites, and stakeholders whilst shaping the future of projects
