·         Senior Education Officer Grade 2

·         Full-time, temporary – up to 30 June 2026

·         Close to Wynyard station & hybrid work arrangements available

 

About the role

 

The Subject Matter Expert, Senior Secondary Technologies, is responsible for providing expertise to support syllabus development for the curriculum reform process. The role involves providing leadership and advice for the development of the Senior Secondary Engineering syllabus. The role requires working collaboratively with a team of Subject Matter Experts across key learning areas to ensure that there is consistency and coherence in the alignment of the syllabuses for Senior Secondary Engineering with expected standards of achievement and sequencing across all syllabuses. The Subject Matter Expert, Senior Secondary Technologies will also be responsible for the development of materials to support implementation.

At NESA we are presently focused on an exciting, transformational program of curriculum reform, and this role is a great opportunity to lead the work of passionate educators.

 

On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:

 

·         providing strong and effective leadership of the development of the Senior Secondary Engineering  syllabuses in relation to the curriculum reform process.

·         preparing reports, briefings and data in relation to the evidence that supports appropriately  sequenced and quality Senior Secondary Engineering syllabus development.

·         providing high level advice and expertise regarding Senior Secondary Engineering aligned to the  findings of the Curriculum Review.

·         working collaboratively with Subject Matter Experts across key learning areas and cross curriculum  teams to ensure cohesion, alignment and quality in the development of syllabuses.

·         providing advice with regard to national and international research that informs best practice in  Senior Secondary Engineering.
