SalaryThe Submission Manager is responsible for the planning, programming and management of bids and proposals preparation, engaging directly with the bid team members and stakeholders, Facilitating, challenging and driving the team toward a winning bid submitted on time and in accordance with Ventia policies.
In addition, the role is responsible for the management and administration of the bid writers and the bid coordinators team, facilitating their professional development and allocation
to tenders & proposals including consultants within budget, maximising productivity and meeting demand.
Role Responsibilities
- Pre Contracts governance and reporting
- Oversee approval process through different pre contract gates, liaising closely with the CCO to ensure bids align with strategic imperatives on commercial objectives and outcomes
- Implement and perform formal reporting (incl. status of tenders and contractual issues) to CCO
- Market opportunity assessment & development
- Consulted for an assessment of tender opportunities from a commercial perspective - ensuring scope, schedule, price, client, etc. are considered
- Support / advise Business Development (at BU level) in opportunity identification and lead generation
- Drive the end-to-end bid / proposal documentation process - including understanding the RFP, preparing Q&A, solution development, presenting at interim and final meetings, finalising proposal and bids
- Identify key risks and review contracts to ensure appropriate risk provisions are in place
- Work collaboratively with the writing team and operational and support SMEs to ensure the response clearly articulates our value proposition and win themes and is both compelling and easy to read.
- Primary point of contact for client tender representatives and ensure key milestones, both for governance, bid preparation and submission, are on time and within budget.
You will have extensive experience working in a similar role ideally working in a Tier 1 organisation with a proven experience of leading a team of bid writers and coordinators.
You will also possess:
- Principle understanding of effective tendering & pre contract risk mitigation
- Commercially astute and able to assess commercial value vis-à-vis potential risks
- Familiar with B2B sales process such as Miller Hermann
- Experienced in senior client engagement and high-impact negotiation skills
