About the Role(s):
We are currently recruiting two pivotal 18 month Fixed Term positions. These roles will lead and deliver key engagement programs across the development of Melbourne Water's 2026 Price Submission. For both these roles you will require extensive experience in strategic communications and engagement, relationship management, customer relations and influencing. An understanding of the ESC's PREMO model for water authorities is highly advantageous.
The Senior Manager, Price Submission Engagement is responsible for leading the planning, implementation and delivery of Melbourne Water's Price Submission 2026 (PS26) strategic relationship and engagement program. Managing a small but high-performing team, the Senior Manager, Price Submission Engagement will be a passionate engagement professional and customer advocate who will:
- Oversee and lead the governance and project implementation of the PS26 (Price Submission and Waterways and Drainage Improvement Plan) engagement program with customers, stakeholders and community, including delivery of key activities and milestones
- Proactively work with the business to align engagement activities and advocate for customer involvement, outcomes and interests as part of the master PS26 program plan
- Manage an agile team, including external consultants, to deliver relationship and engagement activities such as customer forums, panels, values and prioritisation workshops, and social research through digital and face-to-face channels
- Ensure Melbourne Water's Price Submission engagement approach meets customer and regulator expectations.
About you:
- Exceptional social awareness and ability to respond to customer preferences and needs
- Strong ability to build relationships and influence at multiple levels
- Experience working in sensitive political environments.
- High level of project management skills with proven ability in setting priorities, meeting deadlines, managing budgets and keeping accurate records to enable project reporting.

The Water Sector Strategic Relationship and Engagement Lead is accountable for leading the design and delivery of the strategic engagement approach for working with our water sector customers to ensure their priorities and preferences are reflected in Melbourne Water's 2026 Price Submission.
- Leading and delivering a strategic Communications and Engagement plan for the water sector engagement stream informed by customer insights, research, and customer feedback, and aligned to the master Price Submission engagement program.
- Driving customer-focussed outcomes and decision making throughout the engagement program.
- Project managing the delivery of the plan, including leveraging existing forums and facilitating new ones where required.
- Developing supporting materials to deliver the strategic communication and engagement plan such as speaking notes, briefings, fact sheets, PowerPoint presentations, etc.
- Delivering an annual customer facing Price Submission Performance Report and deep engagement on the performance with relevant water sector customers.
About you:
- Excellent knowledge of strategic communications and engagement planning in theory and practice, including the IAP2 spectrum.
- Understanding of the Essential Services Commission's PREMO model for water authorities' Price Submissions
- Exceptional social awareness and ability to quickly and creatively respond customer expectations.
- Experience in the water sector is highly advantageous.
- Experienced in online engagement techniques, social media and digital content creation.
