The Opportunity:
PR Projects have partnered with a leading Transmission Network Service Provider in New South Wales to identify a qualified Substation Technician. Our client is undergoing significant upgrades and the installation of new assets, prompting the need to strengthen their team across various locations in regional NSW. These positions offer permanent, long-term prospects with genuine opportunities for professional development.
Role Overview:
As a Substation Technician, you will play a key role in developing, maintaining, and providing practical expertise in substation electrical work. This includes tasks such as fault finding, repairs, maintenance, installation, and commissioning of assets across various substations. Your responsibilities will span multiple locations in regional NSW to ensure the successful completion of tasks, meeting and exceeding customer expectations.
Key Requirements:
- Understanding of installation, maintenance, and commissioning associated with substation infrastructure.
- NSW Fair Trading Electrical Supervisor Certificate or Contractor Licence.
- Certificate III in Electrotechnology or equivalent Electrical Trades Course Certificate.
- Current Australian Driver’s License.
- Familiarity with Substation Secondary Systems.
- Authorization or the willingness to obtain authorization for High Voltage Switching.
- Ability to interpret schematics and wiring diagrams.
- Exposure to Omicron would be advantageous.

- Strong electrical theory, especially with AC systems.
