Join a respected electricity transmission operator that is responsible for a high voltage electricity transmission network. They are embarking on significant upgrades and installation of new assets across regional New South Wales resulting in sever positions for Substation Control Technicians to join their Delivery team.
Reporting into the Control and Communications Team Leader, you will focus on testing and commissioning of new installations and existing Substations SCADA Terminal Units and Substation Control Systems. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the development and implementation of project plans, expenditure estimation, coordination of work teams, commissioning, and the provision of progress reports.

Your key accountabilities include:
Prepare clear, comprehensive, accurate and timely reports for use by management and stakeholders for decision making.
Ensure that at the completion of work, clear, complete and organised documentation is retained in corporate systems and that further work required is logged.
Prepare specifications for control minor works projects.
Monitor the performance of contractors and suppliers with respect to time, cost, safety, and environment.
Prepare and document designs for the minor augmentation of SCADA RTU’s and Substation Controls.
Manage major capital projects as allocated by the Delivery team.
Contract works can range in value between several thousand and several million dollars.
Prepare designs for the upgrades of Scada RTU’s and Substation Controls
Develop policies, strategies, and procedures on the new equipment.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following experiences and attributes:
Engineering Certificate/Associate Diploma or equivalent
Familiarity with SAA wiring rules and other relevant Australian Standards
Sound knowledge of SCADA, Local Area Networks, SCADA Outstations and Microprocessor Control Systems.
Knowledge of business systems like - Ellipse, The Wire, Theos, TRIM, TRAC, etc
Experience preparing and reviewing policies, strategies, and procedures
Proficiency in all aspects of minor and major project management principals
Experience with the preparation of documentation associated with minor design and augmentations
Have prepared equipment specifications
