About the role
Reporting to the site Commercial Manager, the Superintendent - Commercial contributes to CGO's success by establishing and managing processes for finance and commercial administration, business planning and budgeting, performance reporting and analysis, and capital spend oversight and planning, as well as recommending and implementing business improvement initiatives and value creation opportunities.
The responsibilities of this role will also include:
- Key contributor to the annual operating budgets, periodic forecasts and LOM plans.
- Manage and coordinate effective cost control systems ensuring that the site functions within the internal control frameworks.
- Work with key stakeholders including the Commercial Manager, Site General Manager, Site Leadership Team and other site and group departments to provide financial and commercial advice and support.
- Provide timely and insightful reporting and analysis to the business.
- Support, mentor and develop, and manage members of the commercial finance team.
- Demonstrate a leadership approach with behaviours aligned to the Evolution Mining values of Safety, Excellence, Accountability, and Respect.
About you
You will have significant experience working within a medium to large organisation as a Commercial Superintendent, or in a similar/equivalent role. Ideally you will have experience working in the mining industry, however those with experience in other heavy industry will also be considered.
You will be tertiary qualified in business management, accounting or similar, and have CPA/CA/CIMA qualifications, or an MBA. You'll be highly numerate, with a strong analytical mindset, and pride yourself on your accuracy and attention to detail. You'll have well developed communication skills, with the ability to communicate to, and build relationships with varying audiences and stakeholders. You'll also have strong leadership skills and experience in leading and developing a small team.
