Take on big challenges and grow, through mentorship, collaboration and empowerment.Thiess is the place to make things happen.About The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Superintendent, Maintenance Planning to ensure the scheduling of services and maintenance repairs are achieved at Pembroke Resources' project in the Bowen Basin - the Olive Downs Complex.Pembroke Resources' Olive Downs Complex is a greenfield project located 40 kilometres southwest of Moranbah and commenced mining operations in early 2023. Thiess has been awarded a five-year contract to deliver full-service mining operations, including mine planning, overburden removal, drill and blast, load and haul, water management and rehabilitation, as well as the construction of the mine infrastructure.Working a 5/2, 4/3 roster and reporting to the Maintenance Manager, your duties will include:
- Providing leadership and mentoring to a team of mobile maintenance planners to ensure short, medium, and long-term maintenance plans are developed and delivered
- Utilising the Maintenance Management System to generate planned maintenance and major component repair cost budgets
- Liaising with internal and external suppliers to ensure the parts process is organised and staged for a given maintenance scheduled week
- Monitoring and maintaining unit known work list defect reporting system and the on-site condition analysis systems to ensure information is used to update the maintenance and service schedules
- Liaising with Maintenance Supervisors to ensure short, medium, and long-term maintenance strategic objectives and key projects for Olive Downs works are communicated to maintenance crews during daily meetings
- Providing clear performance expectations to direct reports and reinforcing correct behaviour through feedback, recognition, and encouragement
- Implementing training and development needs for all direct reports
- Minimising plant costs through continually investigating alternative suppliers for competitive pricing
- Mechanical trade or tertiary qualifications
- Previous plant management experience, preferably within the mining industry
- Knowledge of job-specific computer programs is essential (JDE preferred)
- 5/2,4/3 roster - spend your weekends at home
