The Maintenance Quality Assurance Officer (MQAO) role within the Regional Maintenance Centre North East (RMC NE) is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex governance and assurance work in support of maintenance delivery.They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements. Key duties include evaluating that the delivered materiel meets requirements and legislative, policy and regulatory frameworks, through application of comprehensive work knowledge, precedent and established legislation, policy, procedures and guidelines with regards to maintenance delivery and assurance methodologies.The MQAO will be required to engage and communicate with stakeholders to identify, respond and provide advice on issues to achieve work unit and maintenance outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development. The role may have responsibility for managing APS staff.About our Team
In response to the Australian Government developing a nationwide naval shipbuilding enterprise the Maritime Sustainment Model is being implemented to realise Plan Galileo; Maritime System Division’s national, long term approach to sustainment of the naval fleet.The Regional Maintenance Centre – North East is located in Tropical North Queensland, Cairns and will provide capability support to the Royal Australian Navy from the Cairns maritime precinct. An APS 6Maintenance Quality Assurance Officer (MQAO) may will be required to provide leadership and direction on governance and assurance issues across maintenance delivery. They will employ previous experiences and understanding of legislative and policy information to guide and encourage maintenance delivery stakeholders within the RMC-NE Network.The MQAO will have a collaborative leadership style and have demonstrated governance and assurance management experience. They will be accountable to ensure they have knowledge of / and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence’s mission and policy requirements.The MQAO will provide support to their team and strive to meet and exceed business goals. They will have advanced stakeholder engagement and liaison skills with the ability to display significant maintenance management experience, ideally in the maritime environment with demonstrated experience in the governance and assurance of maintenance delivery.The MQAO will seek to develop their own skills and those of their team and will seek constructive feedback, accept development and leadership opportunities sharing relevant experience and knowledge.
