About The Role
Thiess is seeking a Maintenance Superintendent for a permanent employment opportunity at our Mount Pleasant Operations site.
Located a short 2.5km from Muswellbrook in the Upper Hunter Valley, New South Wales. The workforce has been built up with a focus on developing a strong performance culture. This culture values everyone’s contribution equally and is based on providing local opportunities.
As the new Maintenance Superintendent you will be responsible for the safe and efficient running of day-to-day maintenance operations, key responsibilities will include:
- Assuring the quality of maintenance work to ensure that reliable plant and equipment are available for project operations
- Providing focused and effective leadership to the Maintenance Supervisors
- Working closely with the Maintenance Management team to ensure maintenance and production objectives align
- Oversee, plan and control all weekly and daily mobile maintenance activities in a safe and efficient manner
- Manage and coordinate team’s activities by setting performance objectives and allocating appropriate resources
- Ensure comprehensive records are established and maintained to assist decision making
- Develop and implement strategies to achieve reliability and availability levels
- Drive a high performance culture within the Maintenance team.
About You
To be successful in this role you will require the following experience and qualifications:
- Trade Certificate and or Engineering Degree or equivalent qualifications
- A minimum of five plus years’ experience in a similar leadership role within the mining industry
- Familiarity with maintenance management systems, JDE experience is advantageous
- Accounting and budgeting skills, including the ability to monitor costs in line with budget requirements
- Experience with maintenance planning, contract management and asset management
- Effective communication and people management
