With the world largest fleet of draglines as well as a sizable electric rope shovel fleet, working within the BMA Shutdown Team provides an unparalleled opportunity for people who are passionate about maintenance shutdowns.Reporting to the Shutdowns Execution Manager, the Shutdown Execution Superintendent will be responsible for leading a team of technically motivated and results driven project professionals in the execution and continuous improvement of Dragline and Shovel Shutdowns across all BMA operations. This is a key leadership role within the group and will require you to have a strong technical and project management background with the ability to forge strong working relationships with key stakeholders across the business.Although this role will be predominately based on-sites and at our Central Queensland Office near BMA's Peak Downs Mine, flexible arrangements will be available for the right candidate.Key Responsibilities of the Role

  • Instil an overriding focus on the health and safety of personnel across the Shutdown Execution team
  • Create, foster, and nurture a culture of inclusivity through mutual respect and team performance
  • Lead, coach and mentor the Shutdown Execution team to ensure delivery of shutdowns against project outcomes.
  • Actively lead the application of Shutdown Management Framework across the team to support compliance with operational requirements
  • Understand and actively participate in the full end to end shutdown planning and execution process
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with key stakeholders across to ensure project outcomes are aligned with Stakeholder expectations;
  • Drive the implementation and improvement of the BHP Operating System (BOS) across major shutdowns.
  • Identify and implement shutdown improvement opportunities in conjunction with stakeholders and customers.
Learn more about working within BMA by clickingAbout YouThe successful candidate will likely have a tertiary qualification in engineering or project management with a strong track record of delivery of complex interdisciplinary projects or shutdowns. You will utilise your excellent business acumen, relationship building and influencing skills to drive safe and efficient shutdown outcomes. Your overriding focus on safety and demonstrated experience within frontline leadership roles will ensure success in this role. Although previous experience with Draglines and Shovels will be highly regarded, strong candidates with significant major project experience are encouraged to apply.The nature of the role requires you to be a strong people leader, a forward thinker, process driven, and outcome focused.
