About the Role
Thiess has a Technical Services Superintendent role available, reporting to the Technical Services Manager based at the Mt Arthur South project. The ideal candidate will have extensive mine planning and engineering experience at a large scale mining operation, as well as an advanced understanding of computerised mine planning systems. You will also possess strong interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish effective working relationships with key internal and external clients.
Some of your duties will include:
- Developing and maintaining mine sequences,
- Design and production schedules to enable the recovery of maximum coal resources in the most cost-efficient manner,
- Assisting in overseeing the Technical Services function to ensure optimisation of mine resources,
- Delivering project production targets in a safe, efficient, and innovative manner.
About You
- Relevant Tertiary Qualifications;
- Previous experience in a Technical Services senior role,
- Extensive experience in a mining engineering environment,
- Proven ability to manage a team with positive outcomes,
- Can demonstrate positive stakeholder engagement,
- Proficient in financial, mine planning and scheduling packages,
- Analytical and strategic thinking as well as problem solving and lateral thinking,
- Knowledge of the relevant regulations, guidelines and Australian standards.
