Career progression and a long-term opportunity of making an impact with a high performing, collaborative and professional team are just some of the benefits that UGL will offer you.The OpportunityThe OHW Superintendent is responsible for ensuring successful implementation of the project to the satisfaction of contract requirements by applying the company quality, safety, environment and training management process to construction activities.Supervisors work on rosters that meet operational needs and may be required to work shifts, weekends and from time to time to travel and work at locations outside their base.Key responsibilities include.
- Supervise all site activities allocated to construction team members, ensuring safe working practices in accordance with client safety systems and processes.
- Allocating Labour & Plant resources as per projects requirements
- Provide input in to the estimate of ‘costs of construction’ for allocated projects in terms of labour, materials and costs
- Develop & Deliver pre-start briefings/toolboxes
- Ensure appropriate liaison with all contractors, sub-contractors and stakeholders on projects
- Liaise closely with the Project Engineer
- Identify and advise Project Manager and Project Engineer on project staff training needs
- Seek continuous improvement in productivity
- Deliver construction site induction training to construction site staff and contactors
- Develop Emergency evacuation systems for construction sites
- Demonstrated experience in key responsibilities and accountabilities of the role (minimum 5 years in a similar role)
- Relevant Construction Card (e.g. White Card)
- Rail Industry Worker (RIW) Card
- Driver's License
- Tickets and Licenses: Forklift, EWP, First Aid
- Capable of obtaining qualifications to work at heights and in confined spaces.
- Remain flexible to support and adapt with changing work demands and hours of work including shifts, weekends and away from home\
