About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to lead the development, production and editorial oversight of a new weekly TV news and current affairs program. The role will include:

• Developing, producing, and outputting a quality, engaging weekly Asia-focused television current affairs programs which may include conducting interviews and analysis of news, politics, business/economics, social issues, arts, culture and sport.
• Providing effective editorial leadership and guidance to broader team members to produce stories with a compelling narrative, featuring creative high production quality and innovative approaches to storytelling.
• Under the guidance of the Executive Producer (Video), provide direction and constructive feedback to individual team members to maximise output and performance.
• Work with the Managing Editor to oversee logistic and budgetary, aspects of the program.

About You

You are a highly experienced Producer with excellent contacts in Asia with a focus on Southeast Asia. You'll have a demonstrated interest and passion in finding and telling stories, or exploring issues that reflect the diverse peoples and cultures of Asia. Your skills and experience will also include:

• A strong understanding of the politics, culture, society, and broader issues in Asia with a focus on Southeast Asia.
• The capability to undertake considerable editorial responsibility for the program under guidance of the Executive Producer (Video).
• An ability to work calmly under pressure, to tight deadlines and to make immediate and sound decisions in a complex working environment.
