The Supervising Registrar reports to the Registry Services Manager and is responsible for the leadership and management of a group of Magistrate Court Registries. They are also responsible for the provision of statutory, administrative, judicial and quasi-judicial functions, which ensure the overall achievement of the efficient and effective operation of the Magistrates Court and the provision of high service standards.
The Supervising Registrar is responsible for the operations and management of the Magistrates Court encompassing Port Augusta, Port Lincoln, Port Pirie and Whyalla Registries and associated circuits to the APY Lands, Coober Pedy, Kadina, Maitland, Peterborough and Roxby Downs. The Registrars in these locations report directly to the Supervising Registrar at Port Augusta.
Special Conditions:
The following special conditions apply to this position:
- This role is based at Port Augusta.
- Appointment is under the Courts Administration Act 1993. Terms and Conditions of employment are governed by the Public Sector Act 2009.
- Appointment is dependent upon a current National Police Certificate that the CAA finds satisfactory.
- As a justice agency, the CAA may receive details of spent convictions as part of any Criminal History Screening and use this information in the selection process.
- Appointees may be directed to disclose their COVID-19 vaccination status.
- This role is identified as a Prescribed Position and the successful applicant is required to obtain a Working with Children Check (WWCC) prior to employment with the CAA, which must be renewed every five years before expiry. WWCC’s can be obtained through the Department of Human Services (DHS) Screening Unit
- Appointees may be required to undertake intrastate travel including between registries or other court sitting locations which may necessitate overnight absences.
- Appointees must be eligible for appointment as a Justice of the Peace.
- Be assigned duties to another role at the same remuneration level if required by the State Courts Administrator.

ASO7 ($106,512 - $115,137 per annum)
