Our continued scaled growth includes a completed merger and an acquisition in the last 2 years. For the next phase of our development we seek a dynamic and experienced Head of Workplace Health & Safety to lead our programs and systems, management of injuries and return to work. As an engaging leader, you’ll partner with our work teams to collaboratively develop and assist them implement initiatives to mitigate Workplace Health and safety risks within a continuous improvement framework.

To be successful, you’ll enjoy practically engaging with our broad range of nationally distributed workplaces across the following businesses with the Health and Safety Management portfolio:
- Products Business (6 Warehouses - 1 in each State and Inbound call centre in inner western Melbourne);
- Mobility Equipment Business (South-Eastern Melbourne); and
- Disability Services businesses - residential and in-home sites (principally Victoria & NSW)
What you need to be successful
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously with a high degree of initiative as well as able to work collaboratively as a member of the team;
- Provide expert guidance to managers on safety and injury management legislation, ensuring all actions are in line with compliance requirements;
- Lead emergency preparedness efforts, drills and ensuring the availability of necessary resources.
- Oversee risk assessments and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend preventive measures to support the continuous improvement of our Safety Management System;
- Manage workplace injuries, injury management processes and work cover claims with our external partner;
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and promote employee wellness programs, including mental health initiatives, and ergonomic solutions;
- In conjunction with our Learning, Capability, and Engagement Manager, design and deliver safety training programs to manage workplace risk and promote a safety-conscious culture;
- Lead and conduct workplace investigations;
- Support change management activities to support implementation of safety and wellbeing systems, initiatives and programs;
- Monitor and evaluate safety metrics and trends to identify areas for improvement and develop strategies to enhance safety performance;
- Maintain a contemporary knowledge of industry trends and regulatory amendments, and proactively suggest improvements to our health and safety practices.
