The Project
CPB Contractors is the Managing Contractor for the delivery phase of the North Queensland Mid-Term Refresh Program project in North Queensland for the Australian Government's Department of Defence.
The project in North Queensland, will see the upgrade of aged infrastructure and new facilities across three sites: HMAS Cairns, RAAF Base Townsville and Townsville Field Training Area.
Your Opportunity
CPB Contractors are seeking experienced Building and Services Supervisors who are talented, motivated, and disciplined, and who have a strong work ethic that drives them to succeed.
As Supervisor, you will be accountable for:
- Maintaining a comprehensive working knowledge of the contract, the specifications, and safety and environmental regulations
- Effectively coordinating and supervising the utilisation of all on-site subcontractor resources for the project
- Ensuring all workers are inducted onto site before commencing work
- Monitoring construction progress and compliance to safety and environmental standards
- Ensuring accurate daily diaries within specified timeframes
- Managing site security and material/plant deliveries and storage and general housekeeping
- Ensure all operations are performed in accordance with agreed safe methods of work
- Actively liaising with subcontractors and suppliers
- Ensure compliance with all relevant legal and regulatory requirements and all relevant Company and Group policies and processes.
- Trade qualification
- RTO recognised
- Applying principles of construction to deliver works in accordance with scope of works technical criteria (SWTC)
- Demonstrated commercial experience including planning up to 4 weeks ahead and monitoring of resources within area of accountability
- Champion a culture of “Safety & Health above all else” and ability to conduct own work and teams according to site SHEQ
- Demonstrated experience in a similar role within the construction industry
- A collaborative and diligent attitude to project delivery to meet deadlines
- Strong people management and conflict resolution skills
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully and autonomously within a fast paced project environment and deliver on deadlines
- Hold proven verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with an ability to develop and maintain relationships across diverse stakeholders
