The CSR Supervisor is responsible for general troubleshooting, rosters, training and competency assessment, workflow monitoring, daily oversight, and staff encouragement and support. As part of your role, you will liaise with your line manager; other Gold Coast Laboratory Supervising Scientists; the Gold Coast Group Collections Manager; Robina Pre-Analytical Supervisor and Laboratory Manager; Gold Coast Group Laboratory Manager; and various internal and external stakeholders to deliver and improve the service.
The successful candidate will comply with and utilise procedures, policies, regulations and standards which impact upon the position, including the Department of Health Code of Conduct, contemporary human resource management requirements and practices, such as Workplace Health and Safety, Infection Control, Equal Employment Opportunity and Anti-Discrimination Policy.

You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following key capabilities, knowledge and experience. Within the context of the responsibilities described above under ‘Your role', the ideal applicant will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Experience in or the ability to rapidly learn pre-analytical processes, e.g. sorting, coding, data entry, aliquoting, parcel management, etc, in a large and complex Specimen Reception unit.
- Proven ability to solve problems and show initiative in the workplace.
- High level leadership skills and a demonstrated willingness to succeed.
- Proven ability to manage time effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to meet and exceed client expectations.
- Highly developed customer focus with experience dealing with a variety of people and a high level of awareness of impact of the individual on the overall customer experience.
- Sound understanding of laboratory quality systems and the requirements of NATA accreditation and ISO certification.
- Awareness of the human resource management policies applicable to contemporary workplaces.
Qualifications, registrations, and other requirements

- It may be a requirement to work at Robina Campus periodically with discussion via the Hiring manager.
- While not mandatory, a Certificate III or IV in Pathology Assistance or the equivalent would be an advantage
- May be required to participate in all rostered shifts which may include days, afternoon, overnights, weekends and public holidays covering 24hrs a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. There may be a requirement for after hours on call at times.
- May be required to be available for afterhours support.
- It will be a condition of employment for this role for the employee to be, and remain, vaccinated against one or more of the following vaccine preventable diseases during their employment: Hepatitis A & B, Measles, Mumps, Pertussis, Rubella and Varicella.
- Additional vaccinations including Japanese Encephalitis and Rabies may also be required for this position.
- Existing staff that are engaged prior to 1 July 2016 are not subject to this condition of employment unless they apply for a role with VPD requirements that is with a different Queensland Health entity (i.e. one HHS to another HHS, department to a HHS, or HHS to department).
