Our Cowal Gold Operation is an open-cut, underground and ore processing operation, located 40km Northeast of West Wyalong in NSW.
About the role
Reporting to the Superintendent - Processing Maintenance, the purpose of this position is to plan, lead, organise and direct staff to provide mechanical maintenance and engineering services to optimise equipment availability to meet production requirements in compliance with relevant mechanical statutory responsibilities.
Key Responsibilities will include:
- Providing strong leadership for tradespersons' development.
- Supervising daily maintenance workflows and ensure timely follow-up.
- Identifying and rectifying variances against plans.
- Allocating appropriate individuals for corrective actions and review their completion.
- Managing work orders effectively, recording historical data.
- Ensuring equipment availability meets KPI effectiveness.
- Maintaining and improving KPIs for performance measurement.
- Collaborating on short and long-term planning with relevant departments.
- Projecting a professional image of the Maintenance Department internally and externally.
- Assisting with budgeting, reporting, and implementing cost-saving improvements
- Demonstrating behaviours aligned with Evolution Mining values.
- Championing Evolution Mining's Values and commitment to Safety, Environment, Inclusion and Diversity, and Emissions Reduction (Net Zero).
About you
The ideal candidate should possess a Trade Certificate and post-trade experience, including in a in a lead hand or coordinator role. You should have a high-level understanding of supervision practices, with a proven track record of leading by example and achieving results through a logical, analytical approach. You must demonstrate flexibility and a commitment to teamwork and be adaptable to change to be a success in this role. You should excel in building team dynamics, working autonomously, and organizing tasks efficiently. Key skills for this position include supervisory capabilities, effective communication, problem-solving, and stress management techniques, along with experience training individuals and groups.
