The role will have responsibility to:

• Drives and influences proactive safety behaviors within workgroups through visible leadership.
• Plans work so that it can be conducted safely; and considers environmental conditions, nearby activities, and the people and other resources needed to complete the work.
• Ensures that all operators on the shift carry out isolations and issue safe work permits for maintenance work in accordance with the site Permit to Work System.
• Supervises team members in mechanical maintenance activities within the Mobile Fleet Maintenance area.
• Ensures all works for the area (inspections, identifying defects, system verifications, routine schedules, SOPs etc.) are completed within all safety, environmental and company compliance processes and guidelines.
• Ensures mobile fleet is maintained to OEM specifications, using genuine OEM parts.

Essential Criteria

Ideally, our preferred applicant will have;

• Trade Certificate in Diesel Fitting or Heavy Equipment Fitting essential. 
• 5 + years’ experience in mineral processing environment, currently holds mechanical skills from working on fixed assets including drills and crushers.
• Relevant experience in maintaining equipment in mobile fleet.
• Skilled in the use of SAP software to manage day to day planning and scheduling of maintenance activities.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Self – motivated with the ability to work autonomously from time to time.
• High attention to details with good time management skills.
• Strong active listening and interpersonal skills.
• PNG Driver’s License – Class Six (6) essential.

• Must be available for FIFO to Lihir
• Ability to successfully complete a pre-employment medical assessment.
• Must have proof of a completed Police Clearance within the last six months.
