Our Mungari Gold Operations are a cornerstone asset located 28km west from central Kalgoorlie, Western Australia (WA) and 600km east of Perth. Mungari has a predominantly residential workforce, with many living in Kalgoorlie Boulder, giving employees the luxury of coming home every day.
Last year we announced our expansion project, a $250m investment to expand our processing mill. This investment will extend Mungari's mine life to 15 years and double annual production to over 200,000 ounces per year post commissioning. It is an exciting time to join the Mungari Operations!
About the role
Reporting to the Underground Senior Supervisor we are looking to appoint an Underground Supervisor to provide daily supervision and coordinate all shift activities for the production team. Key result areas include:
- Ensure efficient management of equipment and mine personnel is in place to achieve targets.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure that controls are in place to ensure employees are not exposed to unnecessary risks.
- Ensure thorough, informative, and documented handover between shifts to reduce rework and to achieve daily and weekly planned targets and outcomes.
- Ensure environmental compliance with statutory and company standards through training and development.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by constantly looking for opportunities to improve work safety, practices, and procedures.
About you
As the Underground Supervisor you will have experience working in an underground production environment at a supervisory level and will have demonstrated how you have successfully led teams to safely deliver to the mine plan. You will hold a current WA Underground Supervisor's Certificate under the new legislation and confidently demonstrate the following;
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship building skills at all levels.
- Ability to cope with pressures and setbacks.
- Follows instructions, policies, procedures, and responds well to change.
- Challenges unsafe environments and behaviours.
- Be positive, energic and engaging.
