Long Service Leave available after 5 years’ service Position Overview: The position of Supervisor Roads Delivery (Quick Response) sits within the Infrastructure and Assets division of Yass Valley Council based at the Council’s Works Depot. To provide leadership and supervision of work team/s carrying out general roads construction and maintenance activities and facilitate the timely provision of plant, equipment, materials, and resources in accordance with works programs.
Who are we looking for: A self-motivated enthusiastic individual who is able to work independently and as part of our team that holds an HR truck license who has a certificate IV in civil construction or equivalent, willingness to obtain or has a minimum of 2 years’ experience? Working with us: The successful candidate will be joining Council in the New
Year in our Roads Delivery Team to lead the team in all aspects of Roads Delivery within Yass Valley Council. Key Accountabilities Within the area of responsibility, this role is required to:
- Operate with a high level of autonomy and deal with unexpected and changing situations either independently or by managing a small work group.
- Perform regular or sudden asset/damage inspections and record and report the outcome.
- Supervise/perform all civil infrastructure maintenance tasks and upgrades in accordance with works programs and management systems.
- Ensure all documentation relevant to the position is detailed in accordance with current standards.
- Supervise the implementation of, and ensure adherence to, Council’s policies and procedures in the work team/s.
- Communicate an appropriate level and flow of information to support the activities of the work team/s.
- Liaise with the Coordinator to ensure that adequate plant, equipment, materials, and labour is available to support the work plans developed for the work team/s.
- Supervise the various activities of the work team ensuring work is scheduled and carried out in a professional and timely manner with a focus on ensuring excellence in customer service delivery at all times.
