About the Role
In our pursuit of expansion under the guidance of our skilled Leadership Team, we are currently seeking an Electrical or Mechanical based Trades Person to become a Supervisor and valuable member of our Team situated in Smithfield (Sydney).
As a Supervisor at J&R Magnetics, your role will involve overseeing and guiding the team to ensure efficiency, productivity, and adherence to company standards. Your accountability will include providing direction, setting goals, and effectively allocating resources. Additionally, you'll mentor and support team members, offering feedback, coaching, and training to help them develop their skills and achieve their full potential. You'll also manage work schedules and communicate with upper management to report progress and address challenges. Ultimately, your goal as a supervisor at J&R Magnetics is to cultivate a positive work environment where individuals are motivated, engaged, and empowered to contribute to the organisation's success.
Responsibilities
Your primary responsibility will be to lead a small capable trades team to manufacture, overhaul, repair and on-site-service a range of industrial equipment. This includes electro-magnet systems, power supplies and rotating machinery/small steam turbines. The role is based in our Smithfield factory, with occasional customer site visits.
In more detail, the role involves:
- Setting & Managing the Production Schedule to ensure jobs are completed on time.
- Coordinating and communicating with customers regarding site servicing/breakdown work and general project topics.
- Procurement of appropriate stock, materials and resources to fulfil project requirements
- Problem solve to address any technical issues that may arise
- Support the team by being hands-on when required
- Overseeing the Testing and Final Inspection process
- Motivate the team to drive a positive culture, to identify areas for upskill and advancement of their performance as a whole.
- Ensure WH&S requirements are maintained
- Deliver weekly toolbox talks to your team and participate in group production meetings
Pre-requisites
- Electrical or Mechanical Trade Certificate.
- Experience leading a small team
- Effective interpersonal/communication skills
- Technical problem solving skills
- Prior experience in a supervisior role
- Experience in manufacturing and/or service
- Client liaison experience
- Planning & scheduling
- Experience working with Safety programs
- Driver's licence
- Computer literacy
- Permanent Residency/Citizenship - Australia
