Warehouse Supervisor

Role Purpose:

As the Warehouse Supervisor, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of our client's warehouse to meet customer requirements.
Reporting directly to the Warehouse Manager.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Timely movement of incoming goods
• Accurate receipting of inward and outward goods
• Record Pallet Returns/De-hires to minimize losses.
• Servicing customer requirements, including inquiries, ordering, and delivery.
• Providing direction and support to warehouse store persons
• Adhering to backorders report delivery dates
• Performing production duties as a backup to the Production unit when required
• Supervising a team of 8 Forklift drivers and warehouse staff

Primary Accountabilities:

1. Safety, Health & Environment (15%):
   • Lead safety by example and maintain a 'zero harm' culture.
   • Inform Operations Manager of all incidents on your shift.
   • Ensure compliance with company OHS&E Policy
2. Warehouse (40%):
   • Direct warehouse operations and stock management system
   • Review incoming goods collections and high-level spends.
   • Ensure maximum space utilization with efficient and profitable operation.
3. Distribution (30%):
   • Ensure safe and efficient loading of trucks
   • Control stock of pallets and orders
   • Liaise with customers and couriers for distribution
   • Maintain transport budget requirements
   • Ensure pick accuracy to 98% and inventory accuracy to 99%
4. General (15%):
   • Perform production duties as a backup to the Production unit
   • Conduct administrative functions as required
   • Record and act on the removal of slow-moving or obsolete stock
   • Facilitate continuous improvement within the business

Relationships:

• Internal: Branch Manager, Operations Manager, Warehouse Team, Customer Service Team, Procurement Team, Sales Team
• External: Customers, Couriers, Transport/Freight Providers

Person Specification:

• Experience leading a small to medium-sized warehouse team in a distribution environment.
• Experience in a warehouse picking and packing environment.
• Current driver’s license, forklift license, and safe driving record
• Ability to prioritize and work to tight demands.
• Good organisational skills, including communication, teamwork, problem-solving, negotiation, and time management.
