Position Overview:
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Demand & Supply Coordinator to join our team at GALE Pacific. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for coordinating export and import shipments from our overseas factory and suppliers to sites in Australia, New Zealand, and the Middle East. Your primary focus will be on managing short-term demand and supply, ensuring best-in-class customer service levels, and driving the daily standard of logistics within our Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities:
- Take a proactive approach to safety within the working environment and ensure compliance with all legislative requirements.
- Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures for inbound transports.
- Coordinate import/export containers and air shipments with suppliers and freight forwarders.
- Liaise between factory, suppliers, forwarders, and customers for logistical matters.
- Perform daily inbound track and trace functions, maintaining shipment information in the ERP system and providing status updates as necessary.
- Data entry and administration shipping document creation and carrier assignments.
- Provide accurate shipping & booking information for all regions
- Troubleshoot and diagnose in-transit issues for all shipments, including sea, air, and road transport.
- Communicate with internal stakeholders on any delivery updates and concerns.
- Review inbound invoices for timely processing and resolve any discrepancies with Finance team & freight forwarders.
- Obtain sea/air freight quotations, perform cost analysis, and arrange shipments for projects as requested.
- Establish, monitor, and circulate Key Performance Indicators for sea and air freights.
- Participate in cost improvement projects and periodic freight tenders for optimization of inbound costs.
- Manage daily 3PL warehousing inquiries related to inbound shipments, both sea and road freights.
- Obtain data from Supply Planning team to create and monitor weekly warehouse transfers across 3PLs
- Demonstrate understanding of international shipping, road transport, and warehousing.
- Keen understanding of Supply Chain including Supply & Demand principles and inventory management.
- 3+ years of international freight forwarding and import compliance experience.
- 1+ year of domestic transport experience, including FTL/LTLs.
- Proficient in data analysis using Excel spreadsheets and Microsoft Office.
- Experience dealing with Freight Forwarders and familiarity with Supply Chain principles.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics AX12 and/or D365 preferred.
- FMCG, hardware, or retail industry experience preferred.
- Familiarity with purchasing and warehousing processes.
- Financial acumen related to invoice processing and sea freight costs.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with stakeholders.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills with a focus on driving continuous improvement.
